How Do You Know When You Need a Lawyer?

If you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, then you should consider consulting a lawyer about your situation.

  1. Have you tried to resolve the matter by speaking directly to “the other side” and failed?
  2. Are you being threatened by another individual or group with legal action against you?
  3. Do I need someone to speak for me or my cause?
  4. Have I been served with papers such as a warrant, summons, or subpoena?
  5. Does the opposition have legal representation?
  6. Will it cost more not to hire an attorney than to hire an attorney?
  7. Are you involved in a major transaction such as starting a business, buying real estate, signing a contract, writing a will, etc?
